ENEMY MUTATIONS
BOSS REWORK
SMOKE DECOY AI
BALANCE
Field analysts have filed a classified threat assessment following the latest engagement data. Three enemy types have mutated beyond original parameters. Boss phase transitions now include a hardened shielding window. Smoke now fools enemy targeting systems. Allied units have been reinforced. And the weapon evolution rotation has been overhauled. This is not a polish pass. These are tactical changes that will alter how you fight — and how the battlefield fights back.
ENEMY MUTATIONS
THREE THREATS. RECLASSIFIED.
Three enemy types have received behavioral and mechanical upgrades that fundamentally change how they need to be approached. Codex entries have been updated accordingly. Field operators are advised to review new threat profiles before deployment.
DECIMATOR — CELLULAR FISSION PROTOCOL
Killing a Decimator no longer ends the threat. On death, it splits into two smaller instances — half the HP, half the size, identical aggression. Each of those can split again. And again. Up to three generations. A single Decimator can cascade into seven targets if not managed correctly. The Codex now reflects the HP chain: 520 → 260 → 130. Do not treat a Decimator kill as a cleared threat. Treat it as a multiplication event.
WRAITH — QUANTUM PULSE SYSTEM
The Wraith has been equipped with a Quantum Pulse — a three-ring stun wave fired every five seconds after a 0.5 second charge-up telegraph. The rings are cyan, fast and cover extreme range. Direct contact immobilizes the operator for 0.5 seconds. The rings do no damage. They create windows. Do not be inside one of those windows. The charge-up visual is visible — it is the only warning you will receive.
PLAGUEWRIGHT — TOXIC AURA
The Plaguewright now emits a continuous toxic field. Any operator within 70 pixels of the Plaguewright takes 5 HP per second. No hit flash. No audio cue. Just a steady drain that compounds with everything else on the field. The Plaguewright has also been enlarged — it was previously difficult to distinguish from standard infantry at distance. It should now be clearly identifiable. Seven orbiting green orbs mark its position. Maintain separation or accept the cost.
BOSS ENCOUNTERS
PHASE TRANSITIONS: HARDENED.
Boss phase transitions have been significantly extended and now include a visible shielding window. Previously, the transition period was 1.5–2.5 seconds of invincibility with no visual indication. That was bad for readability and even worse for feel. It has been replaced with a proper system.
During a phase transition, all bosses now project a pulsing blue-white invincibility ring. The ring breathes. It does not disappear until the transition completes. Transition windows have been extended to 6.5–7.5 seconds depending on the boss type. You cannot damage a boss while the ring is active. This is intentional. Use the window to reposition, reload, and prepare for the next phase — because what follows will be worse than what came before.
REVENANT — HP INCREASED TO 3,800
The Revenant's HP pool has been increased from 2,800 to 3,800. Combined with the extended phase transition window, it now requires sustained commitment to finish. Players attempting to burst through both phases without repositioning will not make it. The Codex entry has been updated to reflect the true HP value.
BOSS OBSTACLES — NOW INDESTRUCTIBLE
Environmental obstacles spawned during boss encounters are no longer destructible. They were being eliminated too easily, removing their intended role as arena hazards. The battlefield is now a permanent constraint. Adapt to the terrain — it will not adapt to you.
TACTICAL UPDATE
SMOKE IS NOW A DECOY.
Smoke grenades have been upgraded to function as active decoys. When smoke is deployed, enemy AI targeting systems are redirected to the smoke cloud's position — not the operator's actual location. Enemies will converge on the smoke impact point, burning their pursuit window while the operator reposition, reloads, or flanks.
This applies to all operators with smoke access. The mechanic functions identically to the existing cloak system — enemies lose track of the true position and move toward the last known signature. The smoke cloud is that signature. When the effect expires, targeting resumes normally. This change makes smoke a tactical tool, not just visual cover.
WEAPON EVOLUTIONS
ROTATION: OVERHAULED.
The Weapon Evolution system had a structural problem. The original rotation algorithm would exhaust all available evolutions for a single weapon before offering anything else. In practice, this meant players who started with a specific weapon could receive five consecutive EVO prompts for that same weapon, while other weapons in their loadout never appeared.
The system has been rebuilt from the ground up. Every weapon in the active loadout that has an available evolution is now part of a randomized pool. The algorithm selects randomly across all eligible weapons, with a hard preference against repeating the same weapon twice in a row — provided alternatives exist. EVO builds will now feel varied by design, not by luck.
REINFORCEMENT PROTOCOL
BARON WAVES: ESCALATING ASSAULT.
The Baron mini-boss encounter has received a scaling reinforcement system. Barons appear on waves 5, 25, 45, 65, and 85. Previously, each of these waves deployed a fixed number of Baron units regardless of run progression.
| Wave |
Baron Count |
| Wave 5 | ×1 |
| Wave 25 | ×2 |
| Wave 45 | ×3 |
| Wave 65 | ×4 |
| Wave 85 | ×5 |
Wave 85 now deploys five Barons simultaneously. Players reaching late game should expect coordinated multi-target pressure, not a repeatable encounter they have memorised since wave 5.
ALLIED UNITS
YOUR UNITS. REINFORCED.
Playtesting data consistently showed that auto-deployed allied units were dying faster than players could meaningfully interact with them. A turret placed on wave 40 was lasting an average of four seconds. A Wolf companion deployed against a Baron was being deleted before it landed a second hit. These units are upgrades — they should last long enough to matter.
AUTO TURRET — HP DOUBLED
Base HP increased from 100 to 200, scaling factor increased from 50 to 100 per level. Turrets will now survive long enough to justify the upgrade slot they occupy. The turret cap has also been corrected to allow up to four simultaneous turrets — the original cap of one was an unintended holdover from an earlier build.
COMBAT DRONE — HP DOUBLED
Base HP increased from 50 to 100, scaling factor increased from 50 to 100 per level. The Combat Drone was disappearing before it could complete a single attack cycle at higher waves. It now holds the field long enough to be useful.
ELITE SQUADRON (WOLF · TIGER · PANTHER) — FULL REWORK
Available to the Jungle Guerrilla as a level-up upgrade. All three companion types have had their HP doubled and base damage increased from 25 to 40. These are elite operators deployed alongside the player — they should fight like it. Wolf excels at flanking, Tiger holds the line, Panther provides rapid burst support. Each now has the durability to reflect their tactical role.
AUDIO DISPATCH
INFERNO SPEAKS. COMMANDER FALLS SILENT.
Several audio issues that had accumulated since the last update have been resolved. Two additions and three calibration fixes.
INFERNO — NEW VOICELINES
Two new audio cues for the Inferno boss. A dedicated entry voiceline now triggers when the boss spawns. A separate Phase 2 voiceline triggers the moment the phase transition begins. Inferno now has an audio identity that matches the scale of the encounter.
COMMANDER — TANK ENGINE FADE ON DEATH
The Commander's tank engine audio was looping indefinitely after the unit was destroyed. On kill, the engine now fades out over 0.3 seconds. The silence that follows is intentional.
AUDIO POLYPHONY CAPS
Ice weapon and Vortex Cannon sounds were stacking without limits, causing audio distortion at high enemy density. Polyphony caps and hold timers have been added to both. Six simultaneous kill sounds, six hit sounds, three ice sounds, two vortex sounds — exceeding these limits now suppresses the oldest instance rather than adding another. Dense combat is now audibly readable instead of a wall of noise.
FIELD CORRECTIONS
CONFIRMED. FIXED. CLOSED.
ESCAPE KEY — PANEL CLOSE
Pressing Escape during an upgrade selection or EVO choice panel had no effect. The key is now registered and correctly closes the active panel. Keyboard players no longer need to reach for the mouse mid-run.
VICTORY SCREEN — CONTINUE BUTTON
The continue button on the Victory screen was unresponsive under certain completion conditions. The input detection has been corrected. Completing the game now reliably advances to the Debrief screen.
COMMAND ASSESSMENT
The changes in this report are not cosmetic. New enemy mutation patterns, overhauled boss phase logic, decoy smoke mechanics, and rebuilt EVO rotation all change how the game plays at a fundamental level. Operators who relied on established patterns will need to adapt. That is by design.
